The Edmonton Columbian Choirs began in 1965 under the direction of Paul J. Bourret (1933-2010). It was set up as a girls' choir sponsored by the Edmonton Chapter of the Knights of Columbus.

Since that time, the group has had up to five concert choirs for children and adults. The choirs have competed successfully at the local, provincial and national levels. They have performed in Europe, across the United States and throughout Canada.
